 Welcome to our website.

In 1911, skiing was introduced in Japan by the Austrian Army. The following year Mr.Ogasaka, a furniture craftsman, produced the first pair of skis in Japan. Since then, Ogasaka has made landmark and innovative technologies in the quest to produce the perfect ski. In recent years, the name “Ogasaka” has dominated demonstrator competitions; our concept of making skis can be felt in the preciseness of every turn, which has earned us the trust of many professional demonstrators.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF OGASAKA SKI

Skiing was first introduced to Japan in 1911. The following year Hamataro Ogasaka, a furniture crafter at the time, made his first pair of skis for a middle school ski team in Nagano, Japan. Ogasaka Ski officially became the first ski manufacturer in Japan in 1912. Ogasaka was the first company to make fiberglass skis, steel fiber skis, ceramic silicon base skis, and Kevlar fiber skis. In 1972, Furukawa Miyuki competed at the Sapporo Olympic with Ogasaka skis, followed by Osamu Kodama who competed at Sarajevo and the Lake Placid Olympics, and placed 6th in F.I.S. World Cup SL. In 1996, Ogasaka designed Twinkeel construction skis, which garnered many awards from various ski magazines.

Ogasaka Skis are hand crafted using Maple from North America that is cured for at least 3 years, so some would say that it takes 3 years to make a pair of skis just for you. The skis are perfectly matched and material is paired from the beginning. Ogasaka goes so far as to making sure that the right and left skis are made out of the same part of the tree, thereby eliminating the disparity of flex characteristics that might otherwise arise. All skis may look the same, but inside the ski is where you will find the difference. With our time-intensive method, production capacity decreases, but our quality level remains high. At Ogasaka Ski, we believe in the quality of our product over quantity. All of your Ogasaka Skis are ready to ski out of the package. Truly no tune-ups are needed. Skis leave the factory with a 1 degree bevel on the base and side for all consumer models, and .5 on the base, 2 on the side for all racing models.

We trust the quality of our skis so much that we offer you a full TWO YEAR WARRANTY.
